A parked domain is one that's taken, but it is not connected to another service - web or e mail hosting. Basically, this type of domain will not open any real content in case you type it within a browser, but nobody else can take it as you've already registered it and you are its owner. The advantage of obtaining a domain name and parking it afterwards is the fact that you can keep it and not worry that someone else may register it in the meantime if, for example, the website for it is not ready yet. You can create a short-term Under Construction page for a parked domain while you are working on the web site, or forward it to some other web address - temporarily or permanently. The second option can be employed when you have already registered domain.com, for instance, and you acquire domain.net and domain.org, in order to protect a brand name or a trademark. In this situation, the .net and .org domain addresses can be parked and forwarded to the .com as you do not need individual sites for them.

Parked Domains in Cloud Web Hosting

With each and every cloud web hosting package that we offer you can park as many domain addresses as you wish and in contrast to other companies, we don't have any fees for that. However, this can be done just for domain addresses which are registered through us because parking a domain is possible only through the registrar, and not through the host unless you have the two services with just one company. We've got a feature-rich Domain Manager tool where you can easily park and un-park domains, pick one of the templates we provide and add custom text to it, or forward a domain to a URL of your preference. If you host a parked domain address, our system will change its name servers and create a folder in the File Manager automatically. You could also set filters and see only the parked or only the hosted domains, which will enable you to handle them quick and simple.
