.NAME Domain Names

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME generic TLD is the single TLD supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. At the beginning, solely 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to obtain john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered 3rd-level domain names remained active.

Through our firm, you can reserve your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to change the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you take its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registrar firm and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no specific rules on who can purchase a .NAME domain, but in order to preserve the goal behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.

The dot NAME top-level domain is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no additional cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the exact spelling in your local language.
